Jill Dietz, MD, MHCM, FACS

Jill Dietz, MD, MHCM, FACS, is a breast surgeon and Professor of Surgery NYU Langone Grossman School of Medicine. She also is Director of Surgical Quality and Strategy in Perlmutter Cancer Center. She completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology and general surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic and received her master’s in health care management from Harvard’s T H Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Dietz is the past President and Chairman of the Board of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is currently Vice Chair of the ASBrS international committee, co-leads Global Breast Hub and serves as an advisor to Breast Global, an international organization with a mission to lessen gaps in breast cancer care around the world. In her previous role as Vice Chair of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), Dr Dietz led the 2024 standards revision focusing on patient centered care. She is currently Chair of The American Cancer Society National Breast Cancer Round Table Access for Treatment priority group. Dr. Dietz has taken part in the development of several guidelines and consensus statements and was lead author on the multiorganization breast manuscript guiding physicians in the care of breast cancer patients during the pandemic. Dr. Dietz has served as director of the United States breast surgical oncology training program, has been director or faculty in numerous courses, has authored multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts and is a frequent invited national and international speaker. Dr. Dietz is a clinical expert for Cancer Expert Now, an international cancer consultation program. She is Chief Medical Officer for CYduct Diagnostics, a women’s healthcare company specializing in breast cancer risk testing. Her current clinical and research interests include oncoplastic surgery and value-based/ patient-centric care and the surgical techniques that promote such care. Outside of work Dr. Dietz enjoys spending time with her family, being in nature, running, and rescuing and being around animals.
